2026 review
Mookie Betts was a steady, low-strikeout shortstop this year: he hit .257/.326/.454 with a 11.0 K% and an 8.9 BB% over 528 PA for LAD, adding 25 2B and 23 HR. His 11.0 K% over 528 PA was the 12th lowest of 267 hitters with 300+ PA. A right oblique strain put him on the 10-day IL on Apr 5, and after a rehab assignment on May 8 he was activated May 11, missing 36 regular-season days. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 59, he finished 126th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 67 spots below, and 13th of 61 shortstops. His best month was Sep at .337 over 89 AB against .200 over 70 AB in May, the first month back off the IL. The TDK LABS card tracked that swing: in early May it had him working toward a rehab assignment, by early Jul it was calling him an undervalued bat on a hitting streak, and by mid and late Aug and Sep it was describing an elite performer riding a late-season spike and momentum.
