2026 review

Nate Lavender was a rookie left-handed reliever who missed bats and barely allowed anything, posting a 1.66 ERA and 0.74 WHIP in 21.2 IP with a 32.9 K% and a 5.1 BB% over 79 BF, going 1-0 with 12 HLD and 1 BS across 21 games for NYM. His contract was selected Aug 4, and he ran from his first game that day through Sep 26. Undrafted, he finished 329th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 125th of 811 pitchers and 73rd of 575 relievers. He was dominant out of the gate, a 0.00 ERA in 11.0 IP in Aug against a 3.38 ERA in 10.2 IP in Sep. The TDK LABS card tracked him from a debut in early Aug, to a clean-hold arm stuck in an undefined role in a crowded pen by mid Aug, to low-leverage holds by late Aug, and by late Sep it was calling the strikeout and control profile elite in a short sample.
