Nick Loftin was a third baseman who played most days by the end without much power in the bat: he hit .240/.322/.388 over 371 AB, with 27 2B, 8 HR, 42 R, 45 RBI and 4 SB, and a 17.1 K% and 9.6 BB% over 426 PA for KCR. He was optioned Apr 6 and recalled Apr 20, then the playing time built from there, 4 PA in Mar up to 99 PA in Aug, and he was placed on the paternity list Sep 26. Taken in only 2 of 674 drafts at NFBC ADP rank 607, he finished 423rd of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 27th of 67 third basemen. His .315 wOBA ran 22 points above his .293 xwOBA over 426 PA. Jul was his best month at .286 over 77 AB and Aug his worst at .200 over 85 AB. The TDK LABS card tracked the role shifting under him: in early May it had him in a strong-side platoon at second base, by mid-Aug a utility infielder moved up to leadoff, and by late Sep a versatile utility bat short on power.
