2026 review

Nick Sogard was a part-time second baseman whose bat outran his underlying contact: .255/.342/.385, a 20.2 K% and an 11.2 BB%, over 277 PA, adding 5 HR and 19 RBI for BOS. He was optioned Mar 19, recalled May 16, then a right oblique strain put him on the 10-day IL Jun 3 retroactive to May 31; he took rehab assignments in early Jul, was activated Jul 12, immediately optioned the same day, and recalled again Jul 29, missing 42 regular-season days in that one stint. Taken in just 4 of 674 drafts at ADP rank 674, he finished 950th of 1472 overall and 335th of 660 hitters, 39th of 75 second basemen. His .325 wOBA ran 14 points above his .311 xwOBA over 277 PA. The TDK LABS card had him in late May as a depth piece filling a Trevor Story injury window, then by mid-Jul back on the field after oblique rehabilitation in a temporary role, and by late Sep noted a recent contact slump before he was rested for the season finale.
