Nolan Gorman was a power-hitting third baseman who couldn't turn contact into results: across 85 games he hit .184/.272/.308 with 9 HR, 26 R, 33 RBI, a 32.5 K% and a 10.9 BB% over 302 PA for STL, the K% the 8th highest of 267 hitters with 300+ PA. He was optioned Jun 12 after usage fell to 7 games and 23 PA in Jun, then recalled Aug 25 and finished with 6 games and 19 PA in Aug before 17 games and 54 PA in Sep. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 403, he finished 1051st of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 648 spots below, and 359th of 660 hitters, 36th of 67 third basemen. His .260 wOBA ran 18 points below his .278 xwOBA over 302 PA. By early Sep the TDK LABS card still pointed to his raw power as the reason to like him even through a rough stretch at the plate, but by late Sep it had him sitting more often as his production dried up and the infield picture got crowded.
