2026 review
Otto López was a contact-first shortstop who turned a cheap draft price into one of the best hitter seasons in the format. He hit .305/.349/.437 with a 13.0 K% and a 5.8 BB% over 687 PA for MIA across 157 games with 155 starts, adding 32 2B, 9 3B, 11 HR, 94 R, 71 RBI and 34 SB, and that strikeout rate was the 20th lowest of 267 hitters with 300+ PA. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 210, he finished 16th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 194 spots above, and 3rd of 61 shortstops. His .342 wOBA ran 15 points above his .327 xwOBA over 687 PA. The bat ran hottest in Jun at .340 over 103 AB, then coldest in Aug at .236 over 110 AB. By early May the TDK LABS card was treating the hit streak as real, by late Jun it had him as a breakout built on contact, and by late Sep it had him as an everyday shortstop with contact and stolen base volume both holding.
