He went on the 10-day IL Mar 30 for left elbow inflammation, was transferred to the 60-day IL Apr 14, took rehab assignments in late May, and was activated Jun 1 after missing 63 regular-season days; he was later designated for assignment Jul 10, outrighted Jul 15, and had his contract selected Sep 12. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 958, he finished 1216th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 258 spots below his ADP rank, and 45th of 65 first basemen. His .252 wOBA ran 29 points below his .281 xwOBA over 122 PA. The TDK LABS card had him out for a procedure to address his elbow with no near-term timeline in early May, then by mid-Sep it had him back after the season-long absence, and by late Sep it noted him producing strong contact in a limited role.
