2026 review

Pedro Ramírez was a switch-hitting second baseman who earned a bigger role as the year went on, hitting .261/.321/.402 with an 18.4 K% and a 7.5 BB% over 266 PA for CHC, adding 6 HR and 9 SB. He was optioned on Mar 8 and recalled on May 22, starting 11 of 21 games in Mar-Jun before starting 47 of 59 games in Jul-Sep. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 453rd of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 247th of 660 hitters, 29th of 75 second basemen. His .315 wOBA ran 31 points above his .284 xwOBA over 266 PA. The TDK LABS card tracked the role shifting under him: by late May it had him promoted to fill a vacancy after scorching the high minors with the bat profile looking real, by late Jul it had a volume opening in the middle infield capped by limited weekly availability and platoon constraints, and by late Sep it had playing time squeezed as other infielders returned, leaving him in a reduced role.
