2026 review

Petey Halpin was a speed-and-defense outfielder who never hit enough to hold a job: over 83 games for CLE he went .225/.268/.326 with 4 HR and 10 SB, a 17.9 K% and a 4.6 BB% over 195 PA. He was optioned Mar 20, recalled May 1, optioned Jun 2, recalled Jun 16, optioned Jun 28 and recalled Jul 9, bouncing up and down all season. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 691, taken in only 5 of 674 drafts, he finished 961st of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 40th of 70 center fielders. His .264 wOBA ran 31 points below his .295 xwOBA over 195 PA. The TDK LABS card followed a fading role: when he was recalled in May it called him a speed-defense profile worth only a deep-league look, by late Aug it had him out of the lineup after a cold stretch, and by late Sep it had him down to occasional starts within the CLE outfield mix.
