2026 review
PJ Poulin worked as a swingman out of the WSN bullpen, posting a 2.70 ERA and 1.31 WHIP in 36.2 IP across 35 games with 11 starts, and a 16.3 K% and a 13.7 BB% over 153 BF, with thin swing-and-miss behind it: his 6.1 SwStr% over 635 pitches was the 7th lowest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF, and that same 13.7 BB% was the 37th highest of that pool. He was optioned May 21, recalled May 24, optioned again May 28 and recalled Jun 13, then a left flexor strain sent him to the 15-day IL Jul 19, retroactive to Jul 16, before he was transferred to the 60-day IL Aug 2 with no activation on record through Sep 27, missing 73 regular-season days. Undrafted in most drafts (taken in 20 of 674), he finished 421st of 1472 overall in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 122nd of 575 relievers. His 2.70 ERA ran 2.74 below his 5.44 xERA over 153 BF. The card tracked the fade: by early May he was third in a bullpen committee with minimal stats, and by late Aug it had him on the 60-day IL with the role unresolved and activation far off.
