2026 review

Rece Hinds was a part-time outfielder who never held a job in one place, hitting .143/.211/.222 with a 45.1 K% and a 7.0 BB% over 71 PA across 25 games and 18 starts for CIN, MIA and BAL. He shuttled between the majors and the minors all year, optioned and recalled on Mar 21, Apr 14, May 3, May 21, Jul 9, Jul 19, Aug 4 and Sep 6, with a designated for assignment from CIN on May 17 in between and a trade from MIA to BAL on Aug 3. The playing time came in bunches, 34 PA over 10 games in Apr and 33 PA over 12 games in Sep, with 2 games in May and 1 game in Jul between them. His 5 2B were his only extra-base hits, and he drove in 6 RBI with 32 SO. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 891 and taken in just 34 of 674 drafts, he finished 1428th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 638th of 660 hitters and 77th of 79 right fielders. The TDK LABS card followed the same path: by early May it had him optioned with the CIN outfield spoken for, and by late Sep it had him as a bench outfielder in BAL whose strikeouts and contact trouble kept him from regular playing time.
