Rhys Hoskins drew walks at a strong clip but couldn't keep the strikeouts down: he hit .179/.306/.376 with a 31.5 K% and a 14.8 BB% over 317 PA for CLE, with 13 HR, 33 R and 38 RBI across 95 games. Selected off a minor league deal Mar 25, he played through Aug 18 before lower back inflammation put him on the 10-day IL Aug 19, with no activation on record through Sep 27, missing 39 regular-season days. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 457, he finished 828th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 371 spots below his ADP rank, 303rd of 660 hitters and 40th of 65 first basemen. His 14.8 BB% and 31.5 K% over 317 PA ranked 11th highest and 12th highest of 267 hitters with 300+ PA, respectively. By early May the TDK LABS card had him in a widened role after a home run, by early Jul it had him as a DH showing emerging bounce-back, and by late Sep it had him ramping a swing program toward activation with no rehab assignment available.
