2026 review

Roki Sasaki worked as a full-time member of the LAD rotation for most of the year before finishing out in relief. He posted a 4.49 ERA and 1.32 WHIP in 122.1 IP across 26 games, 23 starts, with a 23.6 K% and a 9.2 BB% over 522 BF, striking out 123 against 48 walks with 22 HR allowed. A right middle finger blister put him on the 15-day IL on Aug 27, and he was activated Sep 21 after missing 25 regular-season days. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 250, he finished 997th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 747 spots below, and 152nd of 236 starting pitchers. His 4-seam fastball averaged 97.5 mph in Mar-Jun and 98.5 mph in Jul-Sep. He moved from starter to reliever, first appearance in the new role Sep 22, after 23 starts in 23 games before the move and 0 starts in 3 games after. His best month was May at a 3.18 ERA in 28.1 IP against a 7.23 ERA in 18.2 IP in Apr. By early May the TDK LABS card was tracking progress on a new splitter but flagged caution after an outing that allowed several home runs, and by late Sep it had him moving from rotation depth into relief work built around his velocity and strikeout stuff.
