2026 review
Roman Anthony's year was defined by a long absence more than anything he did on the field: he hit .245/.339/.396 with a 27.3 K% and a 12.0 BB% over 242 PA for Boston, with 5 HR and 2 SB across 55 games. A right wrist sprain sent him to the 10-day IL on May 7, retroactive to May 5, and he was transferred to the 60-day IL on Jun 28 before a pair of rehab assignments and an Aug 30 activation, missing 117 regular-season days in that stint. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 61, he finished 1046th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 985 spots below, and 45th of 93 left fielders. He hit .229 over 109 AB before the stint and .262 over 103 AB after he came back, and his .326 wOBA ran 15 points below his .341 xwOBA over 242 PA. The TDK LABS card stayed positive on him through the dip in early May, then by early Sep had him as Boston's everyday designated hitter with the bat looking ready off the injury, before turning cooler by late Sep on a chilly recent stretch since his return.
