Romy GonzálezBOS · 1B/2B

2026 review

Romy González was a bat that struck out often and couldn't get going after a long layoff: he hit .185/.264/.308 with a 28.8 K% and a 6.8 BB% over 73 PA across 19 games and 16 starts, adding 3 2B, 1 3B and 1 HR. He was placed on the 60-day IL Mar 12 for left shoulder surgery, took rehab assignments Jun 16 and Jun 23, was activated Jun 28, and was optioned Aug 4, missing 95 regular-season days in that stint. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 943, he finished 1292nd of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 349 spots below, and 36th of 46 designated hitters. The TDK LABS card described him coming back with limited spring work after the shoulder surgery in late Jun, then by late Jul had him in a platooning role on a cold stretch, and by early Aug read him as a corner platoon bat fading hard with little going for him against right-handers.
