2026 review
Ron Marinaccio was a relief arm who moved around and didn't miss enough bats to stick anywhere: a 6.09 ERA and 1.53 WHIP in 57.2 IP over 41 games between SDP, PIT and CIN, with an 18.5 K% and a 10.4 BB% over 260 BF, and his 23.6 CSW% over 1043 pitches was the 35th lowest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF. He was suspended by SDP on Jun 17, then designated for assignment by SDP on Jul 19 and again by PIT on Aug 3 before CIN claimed him off waivers from PIT on Aug 6; CIN designated him for assignment Aug 17, he elected free agency Aug 19, and he signed a minor league contract with MIN on Aug 22. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 1236th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 563rd of 575 relief pitchers. His 6.09 ERA ran 0.86 above his 5.23 xERA over 260 BF, and his best month was May at a 2.51 ERA in 14.1 IP against a 7.36 ERA in 11.0 IP in Jun. By mid-August the TDK LABS card had him landing in a volatile bullpen role after the waiver claim, with a rough recent stretch clouding the metrics.
