Ryan Rolison was a sharp two-way reliever this year, missing bats while working around uneven control: a 3.14 ERA in 63.0 IP across 60 games (2 starts) for CHC, with a 21.5 K% and a 10.9 BB% over 256 BF, adding 3 SV and 7 HLD. He was claimed off waivers by CHC on Jan 7, optioned Mar 12, and recalled Apr 14. Undrafted, he finished 300th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 109th of 811 pitchers and 61st of 575 relievers. His 3.14 ERA ran 0.89 below his 4.03 xERA over 256 BF. Left-handed hitters managed just .162/.230/.189 over 123 PA against him, while right-handers hit .302/.396/.526 over 134 PA. His best month was Jun at a 0.68 ERA in 13.1 IP, his worst Aug at a 5.23 ERA in 10.1 IP. The TDK LABS card had him on a mop-up trajectory in early May, and by late Sep it had him holding saves in an unresolved committee, trending upward without a formal closer title, then simply as the team's committee plug when starters falter.
