2026 review

Ryan Thompson pitched 46 games for ARI, all in relief, with a 4.43 ERA and 1.57 WHIP in 40.2 IP, a 15.6 K% and a 7.0 BB% over 186 BF, and 7 HLD against 1 BS. That 15.6 K% over 186 BF was the 49th lowest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF, a limiter on his season. He was placed on the 15-day IL Aug 5 with a strained lower back, transferred to the 60-day IL Sep 1, and took a rehab assignment Sep 20 and again Sep 22, missing 53 regular-season days with no activation on record through Sep 27. His 4.43 ERA ran 0.34 above his 4.09 xERA over 186 BF. The TDK LABS card called him not really a closer back in early May, then by Sep 22 it had him actively rehabbing in the minors, and by Sep 25 it described his rehab work as still in its early stage. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 1133, he finished 868th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, and 426th of 575 RP.
