2026 review

Ryan Ward was a lefty corner bat who got sporadic usage and couldn't get the average going: over 20 games and 17 starts with LAD he hit .218 and slugged .455 in 55 AB, with a .283 OBP, a 28.3 K% and an 8.3 BB% over 60 PA, adding 3 HR, 8 R and 12 RBI. He shuttled between the majors and the minors all year, optioned Mar 8, recalled Apr 19, optioned Apr 21, recalled May 29, and optioned again Jun 29, before Los Angeles designated him for assignment Sep 16 and released him Sep 22; his season narrowed mostly to Jun, when he logged 17 games and 52 PA against just 6 PA in Apr and 2 PA in May. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 1125, taken in just 152 of 674 drafts, he finished 1210th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 448th of 660 hitters and 62nd of 93 left fielders. The TDK LABS card tracked him as a platoon piece: by mid-Jun it had him with a confirmed edge against right-handers in a spot role, and by late Jun it still had him in that fourth-outfielder role facing incoming competition for playing time.
