2026 review
Sal Frelick made contact at a strong rate but rarely hit the ball hard: a .230/.295/.319 line and a 9.9 K% over 384 PA that was the 8th lowest of 267 hitters with 300+ PA, with 4 HR and 7 SB for MIL. His 2.2 Barrel% and 26.2 HardHit% over 313 BBE were both the 13th lowest of 267 hitters with 300+ PA. A right shoulder strain put him on the 10-day IL Jul 18, and after a rehab assignment Aug 8 he was activated Aug 25, missing 38 regular-season days. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 203, he finished 624th of 1472 overall in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 421 spots below, and 32nd of 79 right fielders. He hit .348 over 69 AB in Jun against .217 over 83 AB in May, and .236 over 276 AB before the IL stint against .206 over 63 AB after he came back. The TDK LABS card read his speed as valuable in a lineup that runs but flagged a tough matchup week in early May; by early Jul it had his platoon role deepening despite strong contact; by early Aug it noted the shoulder strain and IL trip; by late Sep it described him as a platoon corner outfielder still light on power but showing recent traction.
