2026 review
Sammy Peralta was a reliever who bounced between organizations and missed few bats. He posted a 6.65 ERA and 1.87 WHIP in 23.0 IP over 16 games, with a 20.5 K% and an 8.0 BB% over 112 BF. MIL optioned him Mar 9 and designated him for assignment Mar 30; COL claimed him off waivers Apr 4 and optioned him, then shuttled him between the majors and the minors on Apr 24, Apr 27, May 15, May 21, Jun 7 and Jun 12 before designating him for assignment Jun 21 and outrighting him Jun 25. He signed a minor league deal with LAA Jun 27, had his contract selected Aug 10, was optioned Aug 15 and recalled Aug 20. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 1086th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 536th of 575 relievers. His 6.5 SwStr% over 400 pitches was the 11th lowest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF, and his 6.65 ERA ran 0.66 above his 5.99 xERA over 112 BF. By late May the TDK LABS card had him reassigned to the minors after an opener outing at Coors went badly; by mid-Aug it read him as a replacement arm coming off a rough debut; by late Sep it had him as a depth reliever unavailable after a high-pitch appearance.
