Scott Barlow was a middle-relief arm whose season came apart in a crowded bullpen picture: he posted a 6.48 ERA and 1.35 WHIP in 33.1 IP over 36 games, with a 19.1 K% and a 12.5 BB% over 152 BF, 2 SV and 10 HLD against 1 BS. He signed as a free agent with ATH on Feb 10, worked steadily through Jun, then was designated for assignment Jun 21 and released Jun 24 before signing a minor league contract with KCR on Jul 1. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 1139, he finished 913th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 587th of 811 pitchers and 453rd of 575 relief pitchers. His ERA ran 0.86 above his 5.62 xERA over 153 BF. The TDK LABS card followed his standing in the Athletics bullpen hierarchy over the year: in late May it had him nudging up the pecking order with a save pushing his share ahead, by Jun 9 it placed him as a viable but low-rung option, the third man in a committee ninth, and by Jun 19 it had him pushed out of the ninth altogether, with the committee moving on and the velocity down alongside scorched recent ratios.
