2026 review
Scott Blewett worked as a low-leverage reliever who missed bats but ran into hard contact: he posted a 3.13 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 37.1 IP over 26 games, with a 21.2 K% and a 6.9 BB% over 160 BF, and his 23.9 CSW% over 585 pitches was the 47th lowest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF. STL selected his contract Jul 17, designated him for assignment Jul 22, and traded him to ATH Jul 26. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 564th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 217th of 575 relief pitchers. His 3.13 ERA ran 0.68 below his 3.81 xERA over 160 BF. The TDK LABS card had him as a depth arm with little leverage right after the DFA in late Jul, and by late Aug it described a middle-relief arm on a strong-stuff profile working multi-inning stretches with some ratio risk in a deep Athletics pen; by late Sep it still had him working frequent outings in a fluid Athletics pen as a ratio piece with no save path in sight.
