Sean NewcombCHW · RP
2026 review
Sean Newcomb was a reliable relief arm who missed bats and outran his own contact quality most of the year: a 3.09 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 90.1 IP across 60 games (6 starts) for CHW, with a 22.6 K% and a 9.1 BB% over 372 BF, 4 SV, 12 HLD and 3 BS. He worked steadily from Mar through Sep. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 1236, he finished 369th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, and 89th of 575 relievers. His 3.09 ERA ran 1.18 below his 4.27 xERA over 372 BF. He posted a 0.00 ERA in 18.1 IP in Aug and an 8.76 ERA in 12.1 IP in Sep. The TDK LABS card's read shifted across the year: in early May it framed him as a narrow, situational lefty option for saves, by mid-Aug it had the closer role slipping toward a committee, by Sep 1 it was calling him an elite arm within that committee, and by late Sep it was back to describing a fluid pen with workload signaling fatigue.
