2026 review

Seth Halvorsen was a shuttle reliever who couldn't miss enough bats: he posted a 5.90 ERA and 1.72 WHIP in 29.0 IP across 32 games for COL and LAD, striking out 23 with a 16.3 K% and walking 17 for a 12.1 BB% over 141 BF, and his 21.6 CSW% over 522 pitches was the 5th lowest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF. He shuttled between the majors and the minors on Mar 25, Apr 23, Apr 27, May 9, Jun 17 and Jun 24 before right shoulder inflammation put him on the 15-day IL Jul 4, retroactive to Jul 1; a rehab assignment Jul 19 preceded stops with LAD that shuttled him again through Aug and Sep, and the stint cost him 41 regular-season days. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 1103, he finished 1068th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 35 spots above, and 528th of 575 relief pitchers. His ERA got worse after the IL stint, 4.74 in 19.0 IP before it against 8.10 in 10.0 IP after, while his 5.90 ERA ran 0.37 below his 6.27 xERA over 141 BF. By late Sep the TDK LABS card had him as a back-of-the-pen arm in a deep bullpen with no leverage path.
