2026 review
Shea Langeliers was a power-hitting catcher who did most of his damage against lefties: he hit .262/.328/.474 with a 23.3 K% and a 7.9 BB% over 467 PA for ATH, adding 23 HR, 58 R and 58 RBI, and his 13.3 Barrel% over 316 BBE was the 25th highest of 267 hitters with 300+ PA. He was placed on the paternity list May 4 and activated May 7, then a torn meniscus in his right knee sent him to the 10-day IL Jul 26 (retroactive to Jul 25); he took a rehab assignment Sep 10 and was activated Sep 12 after missing 49 regular-season days. Against left-handed pitchers he hit .320/.385/.607 over 135 PA, against right-handers .238/.303/.419 over 333 PA, and his best month was Apr at .324 over 105 AB against a worst of Jun at .204 over 108 AB. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 54, he finished 155th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 101 spots below, and 8th of 103 catchers. The TDK LABS card had him back from paternity leave with elite contact and a flawless schedule in early May, tracked him picking up early production at the plate during his rehab stint by mid-Sep, and by late Sep had him activated and moved to DH full-time.
