Spencer HorwitzPIT · 1B
2026 review
Spencer Horwitz was a first baseman who drew walks and made contact but couldn't sustain it through the year, hitting .244/.344/.364 with a 16.2 K% and a 12.0 BB% over 451 PA for PIT, with 10 HR, 45 R and 49 RBI in 114 games. A left hamstring strain put him on the 10-day IL on Jun 25, he took a rehab assignment Jul 21, and he was activated Aug 2 after missing 38 regular-season days. The bat never came back the same: .280 over 246 AB before the stint against .180 over 139 AB after. His best month was May at .326 over 89 AB and his worst was Aug at .141 over 78 AB. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 381, he finished 377th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 4 spots above, and 34th of 65 first basemen. The TDK LABS card tracked the fade: by late Aug it described him as a cleanup platoon piece riding a slump, by early Sep it still had him as a regular starter stuck in a cold stretch, and by late Sep it had him back to a part-time role coming out of that stretch.
