2026 review

Spencer Steer was a power-driven first baseman whose season got cut short: over 98 games and 92 starts he hit .238/.319/.421 with a 22.4 K% and a 9.1 BB% over 384 PA, with 16 HR, 54 R and 40 RBI. He was placed on the 10-day IL for a right wrist sprain on Jul 27, was transferred to the 60-day IL Sep 18, and missed 62 regular-season days. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 254, taken in 674 of 674 drafts, he finished 306th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 52 spots below, and 29th of 65 first basemen. His .325 wOBA ran 17 points below his .342 xwOBA over 384 PA, and his best month was May at .304 over 102 AB against .159 over 82 AB in Jun. The TDK LABS card tracked the fade: by early Jul it described him in a cold stretch with more swings and misses, by mid-Aug it said his wrist recovery was moving along with a return looking close, and by late Sep it was describing the injury as a wrist tendon tear that required surgery.
