2026 review

Starling Marte was a part-time right fielder who faded out of a job: he hit .242/.298/.314 with a 24.4 K% and a 5.4 BB% over 168 PA for KCR, with 2 HR and 2 SB across 59 games. He signed as a free agent Mar 2, was designated for assignment Aug 17 and released Aug 19, his playing time sliding from 13 games and 37 PA in Jul to 8 games and 25 PA in Aug before the end. Drafted at ADP rank 1064, he finished 1148th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 49th of 79 right fielders. His .276 wOBA ran 11 points below his .287 xwOBA over 168 PA. The TDK LABS card had him locked into regular playing time off an early May start, but by mid Aug it had turned to a struggling reserve outfielder limited to work against lefties, and by the day before his release it had him on the bench side against right-handers.
