2026 review
Steven Kwan was a contact-first table-setter who almost never struck out but also almost never hit the ball hard: his 9.7 K% over 637 PA was the 6th lowest of 267 hitters with 300+ PA, and his 10.3 HardHit% and 0.4 Barrel% in 486 BBE were the 1st and 2nd lowest of that same 267-hitter group. He hit .282/.382/.349 and posted a 13.3 BB% over 637 PA across 151 games for CLE, with 3 HR, 80 R, 32 RBI, 10 SB and an 85 to 62 walk-to-strikeout edge. He went to the bereavement list May 28 and was activated Jun 2, then split sharply by pitcher hand, hitting .304/.394/.387 over 435 PA against right-handers and just .229/.350/.259 over 205 PA against lefties. His worst stretch was May at .188 in 80 AB and his best was Jul at .403 in 77 AB, and the TDK LABS card tracked that swing closely: in early May it had him back from neck stiffness but scuffling, by early Jun it described the bat as ice-cold with contact quality cratered, and by late Sep it was calling him a slump-proof, elite-contact leadoff hitter with rare strikeout restraint. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 164, he finished 193rd of 1472 overall in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 29 spots below his ADP rank, and 16th of 70 center fielders.
