2026 review
Taylor Ward drew a lot of walks but did not do much else with the bat this year: he went .225/.359/.311 over 607 PA (498 AB) with a 21.4 K% and 16.3 BB%, 7 HR, 71 R and 37 RBI across 143 games for BAL and SEA. He played for BAL through Aug 2 and for SEA from Aug 4. His 16.3 BB% over 607 PA was the 5th highest of 267 hitters with 300+ PA. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 150, he finished 389th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 239 spots below, and 27th of 93 left fielders. His .312 wOBA ran 22 points below his .334 xwOBA over 607 PA. His best month was Apr at .305 in 95 AB, and his worst was Aug at .127 in 71 AB. By early May the card noted his first day off of the season, pointing to his walk-to-strikeout balance through a cold stretch as a sign the eye was still working. By late Jul it read him as cooling off in a part-time role. By late Sep it had him in short-side platoon duty since the move, with the contact quality reading better than the results.
