2026 review

Tim Hill worked as a lefty matchup arm who got outs by limiting loud contact rather than missing bats, but the strikeouts were about as scarce as they get. He posted a 4.60 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in 58.2 IP over 67 games for NYY, with a 10.4 K% and a 5.4 BB% over 241 BF, going 5-2 with 2 SV, 10 HLD and 4 BS. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 527, taken in just 1 of 674 drafts, he finished 548th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 288th of 811 pitchers and 204th of 575 relief pitchers. His 10.4 K% over 241 BF was the 1st lowest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF, and his 5.4 SwStr% and 23.6 CSW% over 819 pitches were the 1st lowest and 34th lowest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF. Left-handed batters managed just .213/.265/.346 over 137 PA against him, while right-handers hit .293/.365/.543 over 104 PA. The TDK LABS card followed him from a holds-heavy, low-ERA reliever in early May, to a matchup-first lefty specialist in leverage by late Jun, to an arm dogged by home-run issues where matchup mattered more than role by early Aug, and by late Sep it described him as a matchup-dependent lefty with strong control and little in the way of strikeouts.
