2026 review

Tim Mayza appeared in 60 games with 6 starts for PHI, posting a 3.48 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP in 67.1 IP, striking out 64 against 18 BB, allowing 58 H, 28 R, 26 ER and 7 HR, and going 3-4 with 2 HLD. He carried a 23.6 K% and a 6.6 BB% over 271 BF. He signed a minor league contract Jan 23 and signed as a free agent Mar 22, working from Mar 28 through Sep 25. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 396th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 107th of 575 relievers. He posted a 0.79 ERA in 11.1 IP in Jun, his best month, against an 8.10 ERA in 10.0 IP in Jul, his worst. The TDK LABS card had him in early May opening the nightcap of a doubleheader for 2 scoreless innings as a bullpen-game wrinkle, then by mid Aug it had him sent down after a clean outing with his ERA reading above his skill level, by mid Sep it had him working as a left-handed middleman filling in as an opener and getting strong results in short outings, and by late Sep it had him as a matchup lefty whose pitch counts and usage pattern were climbing in a bullpen built around matchups.
