TJ Rumfield was an on-base-first rookie first baseman who got on plenty and hit .300, but the contact behind it was soft: .300/.390/.453 with a 13.6 K% and an 11.4 BB% over 631 PA for COL, with 30 2B, 16 HR, 67 R and 73 RBI across 155 games after COL selected his contract on Mar 25. His 27.9 HardHit% over 463 BBE was the 19th lowest of 267 hitters with 300+ PA, and his .373 wOBA ran 40 points above his .333 xwOBA over 631 PA. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 976, he finished 89th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, and 12th of 65 first basemen. April was the slow part, .229 over 96 AB, and he closed with his best month in Sep at .359 over 78 AB. The TDK LABS card took a while to catch up: in early May it was still leaning on preseason doubts about the power, by mid-Aug it had him as an everyday first baseman at Coors, and by late Sep it had him out in front of his underlying numbers in a rookie breakout.
