2026 review

Tommy Edman missed the first half rehabbing an ankle and looked like a solid everyday piece once he got going: he hit .247/.329/.385 with a 20.2 K% and a 6.6 BB% over 331 PA for LAD, adding 8 HR, 7 SB and 42 RBI across 84 games. Recovery from right ankle surgery put him on the 10-day IL on Mar 23, retroactive to Mar 22, and he was transferred to the 60-day IL on May 9 before a rehab assignment on May 26 led to his Jun 16 activation; the stint cost him 83 regular-season days, and he did not play his first game until Jun 17. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 339, he finished 365th of 1472 overall in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 26 spots below his ADP rank, and 27th of 75 second basemen. His .320 wOBA ran 17 points above his .303 xwOBA over 331 PA, and he hit .282 over 71 AB in Jul against just .189 over 95 AB in Aug. The TDK LABS card had his rehab paused by early May with residual soreness in the surgically repaired ankle; by mid-Sep it described an everyday utility piece batting leadoff, and by late Sep a defender in a cold stretch.
