2026 review
Tommy Nance was a multi-inning reliever who missed bats but battled the walk, a 26.4 K% and a 9.3 BB% over 258 BF, with a 3.92 ERA and 1.39 WHIP in 59.2 IP across 57 games for TOR and MIN. Placed on the 15-day IL May 17 with right forearm discomfort, he took a rehab assignment and was activated Jun 8 after missing 22 regular-season days; a 3.86 ERA in 21.0 IP came before the stint and a 3.96 ERA in 38.2 IP after. He moved from TOR to MIN over the summer, picking up 3 W, 3 L and 7 HLD with 68 SO. Undrafted, he finished 725th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 437 of 811 pitchers, and 328th of 575 relievers. His 3.92 ERA ran 0.53 below his 4.45 xERA over 258 BF. He fared better against right-handed batters, who hit .213/.263/.307 over 137 PA, than left-handed batters, who hit .314/.397/.490 over 122 PA. His best month was Aug at a 1.74 ERA in 10.1 IP, his worst Apr at a 6.00 ERA in 12.0 IP. The TDK LABS card had little role clarity in early May, but by late Aug and Sep it settled on him as a low-leverage, multi-inning arm on a fluid staff.
