2026 review
Trent Harris came up in August as a bullpen arm and closed the season as the Giants' closer: a 2.31 ERA and 1.16 WHIP in 23.1 IP over 22 games, with a 28.7 K% and a 7.4 BB% over 94 BF, 2 SV and 5 HLD. His contract was selected Aug 7, and he posted a 4.09 ERA in 11.0 IP over 9 games in Aug, his worst month, then a 0.73 ERA in 12.1 IP over 13 games in Sep, his best. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 449th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 135th of 575 relievers. The TDK LABS card tracked the shift plainly: in mid-Aug it flagged him as a depth arm coming off an extended outing with near-term unavailability, by late Sep it had him as the preferred closer after consecutive save chances, and by Sep 26 and Sep 27 it named him the primary closer and primary ninth-inning option after back-to-back saves.
