2026 review

Trevor McDonald was a back-end starter with modest strikeout stuff whose season ended with an elbow injury: he posted a 5.12 ERA and 1.31 WHIP in 70.1 IP over 14 games for SFG, with an 18.4 K% and a 7.4 BB% over 310 BF, going 3-7 with 7 HR allowed. He shuttled between the majors and the minors on Mar 23, Apr 30, May 1, May 4, May 5 and May 9, then a right elbow strain put him on the 15-day IL on Jul 21 before he was transferred to the 60-day IL on Aug 13, missing 68 regular-season days with no activation on record through Sep 27. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 1233, he finished 1006th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 156th of 236 starters. His 5.12 ERA ran 1.03 above his 4.09 xERA over 310 BF. Right-handed batters hit .212/.295/.263 against him over 133 PA, while left-handed batters hit .288/.369/.477 over 177 PA. His sinker averaged 93.6 mph in Mar-Jun and 92.6 mph in Jul-Sep. The TDK LABS card had him as unused doubleheader depth in early May, optioned right back down, and by mid Aug it had him on the 60-day IL after his elbow surgery.
