Against right-handed pitchers he hit .299/.380/.418 over 337 PA, against left-handers just .214/.252/.320 over 112 PA. By early Aug the TDK LABS card had him as a cold spot-time bat stuck in platoon limbo, and by late Sep it had him reduced to a utility role with limited opportunity.
