2026 review
Ty Madden worked as a Detroit relief arm all year, posting a 3.26 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 47.0 IP across 20 games and 1 start, with a 24.3 K% and a 7.4 BB% over 189 BF. Detroit optioned him Mar 1, recalled him May 4, then placed him on the 15-day IL May 17 (retroactive to May 16) with a right forearm contusion; he took a rehab assignment May 25 and was activated Jun 1, missing 16 regular-season days. After that he was optioned Jun 13, recalled Jul 21, optioned Aug 24 and again Aug 25, then recalled Sep 17. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 560, he finished 390th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 102nd of 575 RP. His ERA of 3.26 ran 0.38 above his 2.88 xERA over 189 BF. He ran a 2.38 ERA over 11.1 IP before the IL stint and a 3.53 ERA over 35.2 IP after he came back. Early on the TDK LABS card had him capped as bullpen depth off a modest year; by mid-Aug it was floating him for rotation work if Detroit's injuries continued, and by late Sep it had him back as bullpen depth again.
