2026 review

Tyler Holton was a workhorse lefty reliever who outran his own contact: he put up a 2.75 ERA and 1.25 WHIP in 72.0 IP over 67 games for DET, with 3 starts mixed in, an 18.3 K% and a 6.3 BB% over 301 BF, and finished 2-5 with 2 SV and 15 HLD against 2 BS. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 987, an occasional pick taken in 70 of 674 drafts, he finished 428th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 190th of 811 pitchers and 125th of 575 relievers. His 2.75 ERA ran 1.03 below his 3.78 xERA over 301 BF, and his best month was Jun at a 1.32 ERA in 13.2 IP against a 6.35 ERA in 11.1 IP in Apr. The TDK LABS card tracked his role sliding around all year: by early May it had him opening games in Detroit's patchwork rotation, by late Jun it had him as a lefty relied on for high-leverage innings and holds, by late Jul it noted he had logged a save amid a closer mix still being sorted out, and by late Sep it still had him pitching multiple innings in high-leverage spots with a save chance in play.
