2026 review

Tyler Kinley limited hard contact as a reliever: his 23.9 Hard% over 155 BBE was the 14th lowest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF. He posted a 3.45 ERA and 1.15 WHIP in 57.1 IP, with a 20.7 K% and an 11.2 BB% over 232 BF, picking up 7 W, 5 L, 1 SV, 14 HLD and 4 BS. Right elbow inflammation sent him to the 15-day IL Jun 10, retroactive to Jun 8, and he was activated Jun 24 after missing 16 regular-season days; he went on the paternity list Jul 7, activated Jul 10. Atlanta designated him for assignment Aug 18, released him Aug 22, and he signed with Detroit Aug 24. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 993, he finished 316th of 1472 overall in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 118th of 811 pitchers, and 68th of 575 relief pitchers. His ERA sat at 3.18 in 28.1 IP before the elbow stint and 3.72 in 29.0 IP after. His best month was Apr at a 1.38 ERA in 13.0 IP against a 5.40 ERA in 11.2 IP in May. By late Jun the TDK LABS card had him back from the elbow issue, role unclear in a crowded pen, and by late Sep it had him as a leverage reliever in a fluid pen with Detroit.
