2026 review

Tyron Guerrero was a control-first reliever who missed bats too: he ran a 3.10 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in 40.2 IP across 40 games for BOS, with a 24.7 K% and a 4.8 BB% over 166 BF, picking up 19 HLD and 1 BS. His 4.8 BB% over 166 BF was the 19th lowest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF. He signed a minor league contract Jan 9, had his contract selected May 22, then a right shoulder inflammation put him on the 15-day IL Sep 1; he was activated Sep 20 but placed right back on the 15-day IL the same day with a right shoulder strain, missing 22 regular-season days in 2 stints. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 438th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 130th of 575 relievers. His 3.10 ERA ran 0.42 above his 2.68 xERA over 166 BF. His best month was Jul at a 0.87 ERA in 10.1 IP against a 5.27 ERA in 13.2 IP in Aug. The TDK LABS card had him back as a veteran power arm in low-leverage work in late May, then by mid Aug it was calling him a middle-relief tweener with unclear leverage status on thin coverage, before he landed back on the injured list with a shoulder strain by late Sep.
