2026 review

Tyrone Taylor hit .279 and slugged .502 in 219 AB, with an OBP of .325, a 17.0 K% and a 5.8 BB% over 241 PA, adding 11 HR, 38 RBI and 36 R across 97 games and 54 starts for NYM and CHC. A right hip flexor strain put him on the 10-day IL May 26, and after he was activated Jun 26 he had missed 31 regular-season days; he was traded from NYM to CHC on Aug 3. Taken in 72 of 674 drafts at NFBC ADP rank 990, an occasional pick, he finished 380th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 227th of 660 hitters and 26th of 93 left fielders. His .355 wOBA ran 46 points above his .309 xwOBA over 241 PA, and he hit far better against left-handed pitchers at .318/.348/.573 over 118 PA than against right-handers at .236/.301/.427 over 124 PA. He hit just .186 over 97 AB before his IL stint and .352 over 122 AB after activation. The TDK LABS card tracked the swing: by late Jul it had him on a hot stretch since joining his new club with contact quality and power up, and by late Sep it had him as a short-side platoon outfielder whose average was running ahead of the underlying numbers.
