2026 review

Wenceel Pérez hit .180/.246/.348 with a 16.6 K% and an 8.0 BB% over 175 PA for Detroit, adding 7 HR, before a left orbital fracture ended his season. He was optioned Mar 24, recalled Apr 10, then placed on the 10-day IL Jun 19 retroactive to Jun 17, transferred to the 60-day IL Jun 26, and took rehab assignments Aug 1 and Aug 6 without an activation on record through Sep 27, missing 102 regular-season days. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 448, he finished 1110th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 662 spots below, and 45th of 79 right fielders. His .262 wOBA ran 10 points below his .272 xwOBA over 175 PA. The TDK LABS card had gone quiet on him by early May, then by mid-May was flagging cratered contact quality, before shifting by mid-August to noting continued complications from the fracture keeping him sidelined, still there through late Aug despite being eligible since mid-August.
