2026 review

Weston Wilson was a versatile, platoon-leaning bat who swung and missed a lot: he hit .201/.284/.305 over 183 PA between BAL and SEA. His 31.7 K% and 9.8 BB% over 183 PA reflected that free-swinging profile. Philadelphia designated him for assignment Jan 20, Baltimore claimed him off waivers Jan 22, designated him for assignment Feb 1, and outrighted him Feb 6 before his contract was selected Apr 13; Baltimore designated him for assignment again Jun 6 and outrighted him Jun 12, and after signing a minor league contract Jun 14 his contract was selected by SEA Jun 19. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 1077th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 38th of 67 third basemen. His .269 wOBA ran 18 points above his .251 xwOBA over 183 PA. In early May the TDK LABS card tied his call-up to a soft stretch of opponents; by early Jul it had him as a platoon bat strong only against left-handers with his power fading against a right-handed slate ahead; by late Sep it had cooled further, describing a struggling platoon third baseman going through a rough stretch at the plate.
