2026 review
Will Smith caught for the Dodgers in a season cut nearly in half by a neck injury, hitting .260/.355/.426 with a 16.3 K% and a 12.3 BB% over 276 PA, adding 10 HR and 9 2B across 73 games and 62 starts. Neck inflammation put him on the 10-day IL Jun 11, retroactive to Jun 8, before it was transferred to the 60-day IL Jul 21; he took a rehab assignment Aug 25 and was activated Sep 1, missing 85 regular-season days. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 96, he finished 520th of 1472 overall in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 424 spots below his ADP rank, and 22nd of 103 catchers. His .345 wOBA ran 44 points below his .389 xwOBA over 276 PA, and his bat came back better after the stint, a .290 AVG in 62 AB after activation against .249 in 173 AB before it. The TDK LABS card had him returning from back tightness in early May with a multi-hit game against Houston and no setback signal; by mid-Jul it had a neck injury sidelining him and by early Aug had him on the injured list with neck inflammation, before it closed out late Sep noting a hot stretch.
