2026 review

Willson Contreras had a full, productive year at the plate for BOS: over 130 games he hit .275/.386/.516 in 448 AB, with 27 HR, 81 RBI, a 25.2 K% and an 11.0 BB% over 535 PA. He was suspended Jul 9, then placed on the 10-day IL on Aug 31 with a left hamstring strain, took a rehab assignment Sep 11, and was activated Sep 13, missing 13 regular-season days in 1 stint. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 185, he finished 65th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 120 spots above, and 10th of 65 first basemen. His .391 wOBA ran 15 points above his .376 xwOBA over 535 PA, and his best month was Jul at .323 in 62 AB against .217 in 83 AB in Aug. The TDK LABS card flagged the power as real rather than fluky in early May, noted him day-to-day with illness in early Aug, then a bruised hand kept him out of the lineup in late Sep before he was back at first base with the power intact through the stretch run.
