Xzavion Curry moved in and out of the Mets bullpen all year as up-and-down relief depth: he posted a 5.48 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in 21.1 IP over 9 games, with a 16.0 K% and a 9.6 BB% over 94 BF. He signed a minor league contract on May 9, had his contract selected Jul 8, and shuttled between the majors and the minors on Jul 21, Jul 31, Aug 1, Aug 3, Aug 9, Aug 27, Aug 28, Sep 16 and Sep 17 before he was designated for assignment on Sep 23 and outrighted Sep 25. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 899th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, and 444th of 575 relief pitchers. The TDK LABS card followed the swings: in mid-Jul it had him picked up as organizational depth, by early Aug it had him back up for bulk relief, by late Aug it had him covering a taxed bullpen in long relief only with no leverage or save path, and by mid-Sep it had him freshly recalled and hit hard right away, with 7 homers allowed on the year.
