2026 review

Yohel Pozo was a backup catcher with little runway this year, hitting .250 with a .317 SLG in 60 AB, adding an OBP of .258 with a 14.5 K% and a 1.6 BB% over 62 PA, across 37 games and 13 starts for STL and BAL. STL optioned him May 29, designated him for assignment Jul 17, and BAL claimed him off waivers the same day, optioning him and then recalling him Jul 27. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 1097, he finished 1271st of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 71st of 103 catchers. The TDK LABS card tracked him as a thin-usage piece all year: in early May it had him as the secondary backup catcher and DH with a pinch-hit groundout the only data point, and by late Sep it still had him as a backup catcher scuffling with very little big-league time, with the quality of his contact showing nothing out of the ordinary even as the small workload kept a ceiling on what he could produce.
